Who is responsible for your data

I am Cecilia Desmond, trading as Make Space, Macroom, Co. Cork. I am the data controller. Contact: makespace.ie@gmail.com​

What I collect and why

Enquiry form. First name, last name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. I use it to reply to your enquiry.

Booking through Calendly. Name, email, chosen appointment time, and any information you enter when booking. I use it to arrange and manage your session.

Website use. Like most websites, makespace.ie uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions and, with your consent, for analytics. See "Cookies" below.

Please don't include sensitive information in your enquiry (such as health details). If you choose to share it, I will treat it as confidential and use it only to respond to you.

Legal basis

To respond to your enquiry or take steps you've asked for before starting therapy: this is necessary before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and it is also my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (6(1)(f)).

To arrange and manage sessions: performance of a contract (6(1)(b)).

Non-essential cookies and analytics: your consent (6(1)(a)).

Any health information you choose to send: your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)).

To meet legal, tax or professional obligations: legal obligation (6(1)(c)).

Who I share data with

I don't sell your data or use it for marketing. It is processed on my behalf by these providers:

• Wix.com, which hosts the website and stores form submissions.

• Calendly, which handles bookings.

• Google (Gmail), which handles email.

• Zoom, if we meet online.

• Revolut / accountant.​

 

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, so your data may be transferred internationally. I rely on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses where applicable. You can read their privacy policies for details.

I may disclose information where required by law, or where there is a serious concern about safety, as explained in the confidentiality information I give clients.

How long I keep your data

Enquiries that don't lead to sessions: 12 months, then deleted

Booking and payment records: 6 years, for tax and accounting

Client records if we work together: 7 years after therapy ends, then securely destroyed

Website analytics: As set out by the analytics provider.

Your rights

You can ask me to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or transfer it to you. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Contact makespace.ie@gmail.com and I will respond within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie), 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28.

I keep data secure through password-protected accounts and devices, two-factor authentication, and limiting access to myself.
